We had thought that we weren't going to be doing a show this season. The plan was to switch over to focusing on keeping the podcast going. If you're in the area and looking for something to do, stop on by. You don't have to be affiliated with MIT to get in, even though its in an MIT dorm. Just go through the front lobby of Ashdown House and if the deskworker asks, say you're going to the Thirsty. Cheap beer/wine and good music. What more could you ask for? Concord Dawn was playing at Elements this week (sick show by the way). Since we didn't want to miss the show, we decided to pre-record our show this week. In deciding to do this I realized one of the drawbacks of Traktor Duo as opposed to Traktor Pro: the recording capability is disabled in Traktor Duo. So, I improvised a funky routing situation with my audio interface and recorded the output of Traktor Duo with Ableton Live. A little roundabout, but the system worked reasonably well. I didn't have time to set the levels properly, so there is a bit of clipping in my set. It was a fun set though, with some of my favorite Concord Dawn tracks along with several similarly heavy tracks by other producers. In other news, Distributor is now Rhythmic. Also, I've been really digging the <a href="http://bachelorsofscience.com/index.htm">Bachelors of Science website</a>. They have lots of great info and content on there. Check out the Horizons Music mix that they did for Knowledge Magazine.
